Bonds Hits Number 600!

Northside Hitmen outfielder Barry Bonds has hit yet another milestone this year as he hit his 600th IAL career homerun during the September weekend. It was done in typical Bonds style winning the game.

Bonds entered Game 1 against the Molly Putts Rocket Fire with 598 career homers. In the third inning, he hit #599 (a solo shot) against R-F starter Jason Jennings. The historic #600 came in the bottom of the 7th with the Rocket-Fire up 4-3. With a runner on first, Bonds hit a Brad Lidge pitch and sent it over the fence and gave the Hitmen the lead. The Hitmen won the game 7-4.

The 2004 IAL season has been a big year for Bonds as earlier this summer, he passed Mark McGwire as the all-time leader in career homeruns in IAL history. Bonds is now hitting .321 with 38 homeruns for the Northside Hitmen who are currently in first place in the IAL and hope to win their 5th World Championship in as many years.
