  1. OK. I’ll start the speculation. Let’s talk about A and B Relief Pitchers. There are 7 A* Pitchers and 17 B* Pitchers (plus Matt Palmer, a straight B who is mostly relief).

Out of those 25 guys, I would “wish that I had Jesse’s Girl” before I would use a pick on at least 3/4 of them. My only personal contact with him was not positive, but maybe he was just having a bad day. Or maybe he was confused. Whatever it was, I’m willing to let it go unless I see it happen again. See how empathetic and forgiving I can be?

I’m probably not going to take him, but I think he can pitch.

And the ex-Cedar Rapids Kernel might be a closer in waiting.

  2. In random order, I think the first round will consist of: Tommy Hanson, Randy Wells, J A Happ, Jeff Niemann, David Price, Andrew Bailey, Matt Wieters, Elvis Andrus, Gordon Beckham and Andrew McCutchen. Maybe.

    What do others think?

  3. We got our preliminary information for Yahoo Fantasy League. With it came the player ratings.

The 3 highest rated pitchers are Tim Lincecum, Roy Halladay and Zach Grienke.

In ILLOWA League, what do these three pitchers have in common?

  4. 2010 AABA Draft. They have a similar but not identical draft pool.

    Results: 1. M. Wieters, 2. T Hanson, 3. G Beckham, 4. R Porcello, 5. A McCutcheon, 6. E Andrus, 7. R Wells, 8. B Anderson, 9. B Bergeson, 10. D Fowler.

So 6 of their first 7 were in my projected first round. My other 4? Bailey was 14 and Niemann was 17. I don’t find J A Happ or D Price listed, so I assume they weren’t in the draft. Probably already in the league.
