East Manager Tedd Mallasch holds MVP
Grady Sizemore
East Beats West in All-Star Classic
You could say it was a hard fought battle but that wouldn't really be
true. Piloted by Chicago Champion manager Tedd Mallasch, the East
really had it won from the get-go in the 2008 IAL All-Star Game.
They scored four runs in the first inning thanks to Chicago Champion
Grady Sizemore's three run homerun. The West did score two in the
bottom half of the first but the East's Robbie Cano came right back to
match it the top half the second with his own homer, this time a two-run
shot.
After that, it was pretty much all West's game. Sizemore
contributed with an rbi double as part of 3-run fifth inning. The
West couldn't contain the powerful offense of the East and could never
get anything going of their own.
Grady Sizemore was named All-Star Game MVP for his efforts.
I've scoured our web for all our photos from past IAL events and
organized them in this
new
online Photo Gallery. Take a look.
I'll be adding more photos as I find them and will add even more for
future events.
IAL Online Register Updated
I finally got around to updating the
Illowa APBA League
Register. For the past 32 years, we have stats for every
hitter and pitcher that played in our league. Thanks to Tedd
Mallasch and Mike Bunch who have been instrumental in making this
possible.
this is a project to help preserve
some of the 30 year history of the IAL. For each year, there are
standings and leaderboards (and maybe a bit of summary). It's
still in the works as I work on it when I have time.
